1. Bryan Cranston
The Breaking Bad star, Bryan Cranston, shared with fans that he tested positive and recovered from coronavirus in July. He wrote a lengthy Instagram post detailing his experience and saying he was lucky because his symptoms were only mild. Cranston knows that it could have been much worse.
Although he adhered to all the protocols and restrictions, Cranston still contracted COVID-19. Attached to his Instagram post, Cranston shared a video of him donating plasma to help with scientific research to combat the pandemic. He encouraged everyone who has also recovered to donate plasma as it could help beat the virus.
2. Brooke Baldwin
CNN reporter Brooke Baldwin told her followers on Instagram that she was diagnosed with COVID-19. She suddenly had a fever, headache, and chills, so she decided to get a test, and it came back positive. She said that although she was social distancing and wearing a mask, she still got sick.
Baldwin said she feels lucky considering how many people have passed away from this epidemic. She has since recovered, and she was excited to get back to work and thanked the doctors and nurses who are working tirelessly to combat the pandemic.
3. Madonna
The pop diva superstar Madonna seems invincible. She has fallen on stage, had to use crutches, and recovered from the backlash of kissing Drake on-stage; there are few things Madame X can't do. Madonna has given herself many titles, and now she is adding coronavirus antibody carrier to her list.
Although Madonna did not say she had coronavirus, she did test positive for antibodies. According to the CDC, the antibodies are a sickness fighting protein that only appears in your body if you had a previous infection. She may have been asymptomatic, but she still could have had it.
4. Debi Mazar
Younger star Debi Mazar revealed to her fans that after her family got sick (but didn't know it was corona at the time), she started having aches, a fever, and fatigue. At first she thought it could have been the flu, but she got tested and it came back positive. Mazar assured her followers that she was doing okay, and not to worry.
At first, Mazar had an issue with getting tested because she didn't meet the original criteria. After recovering, Mazar donated her plasma to help with research efforts. She told her fans to protect their loved ones and stay healthy during these crazy times.
5. Pink
Pink is usually known for belting out her hit songs, but now she is taking to the internet to talk about something different. In April, Pink announced that she tested positive for coronavirus and recovered. She wanted her fans to understand that the virus affects everyone from all walks of life, and it is very serious.
Because of her personal experience, Pink donated $1 million to COVID-19 relief funds to support the medical workers who are fighting on the frontline. Her son was also diagnosed with the virus and had some mild symptoms as well.
6. Andy Cohen
After feeling ill for a few days, the Watch What Happens Live host, Andy Cohen, told fans he tested positive for coronavirus. Throughout his battle, he kept fans updated with his symptoms and how he was staying positive throughout the experience.
Cohen was focused on making sure he got healthy before continuing with his at-home version of the talk show. While his symptoms were not severe, he was taking it one day at a time due to a fever and minor aches.
7. Tony Shalhoub
Emmy and Tony award-winning actor, Tony Shalhoub, is best know for his role as Adrian Monk in Monk. He currently stars in Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Shalhoub confirmed that he and his wife tested positive for corona in April, and they have both recovered.
Shalhoub told fans that it was a horrible experience, and the virus is not a joke. During the pandemic, he has tried to bring some joy to the world by reprising his OCD character, Adrian Monk, for Peacock's At-Home Variety Show. He just wants to make people laugh when then need it the most.
8. Idris Elba
After realizing he was exposed to someone who tested positive, Idris Elba got a test, and it came back positive as well. While he barely had any symptoms, Elba was taking it seriously and isolating to keep others safe. His wife was not tested, but she did not show any symptoms and remained in isolation with him.
Elba and his wife are UN Goodwill Ambassadors, and they joined forces with the UNIFAD to launch a $40 million fund for those who live in rural areas and are forgotten about by the government. Elba said that now is the time to think about each other and stand in solidarity for those who have been affected.
9. Alyssa Milano
In early July, Alyssa Milano shared with fans that she was diagnosed with coronavirus. She told fans that it felt like an elephant was sitting on her chest, and she needed help breathing. She was given oxygen to help with the shortness of breath, and her other symptoms slowly subsided.
As Milano has slowly started to recover, she shared a video of a symptom no one is talking about. While it is not listed on the CDC website, Milano showed her followers that coronavirus has caused her hair to start falling out in clumps. In the video, she brushed her hair and showed fans how much was coming off of her comb.
10. Andrea Bocelli
Italian opera legend, Andrea Bocelli and his family all tested positive for coronavirus back in march. They have since recovered, but he said it was a complete nightmare. The blind singer who has been known for his innovative style of music was outspoken about the lockdowns in Italy and felt like he was being put in prison without committing a crime.
Bocelli's admitted he broke lockdown rules, but has since apologized for his actions. During the period, he became a symbol of unity in Italy when he sang in an empty Milan cathedral on Easter Sunday, which was live-streamed on YouTube. Since recovering, he and his wife have donated their plasma for research.
11. Anna Camp
You may remember Anna Camp for her role in the Pitch Perfect movies, and now she is back singing a different tune. In July, she shared a post stating that although she tested negative for the virus, she was extremely sick for three weeks and still has lingering symptoms.
While she had been very cautious with wearing and mask and using hand sanitizer, when the world started to open up again, she went out without a mask once. It only took one trip outside without a mask for her to contract the virus. Camp said that she had a fever, was dizzy, fatigued, and had an upset stomach. She encourages everyone to do their part and wear a mask because she doesn't want anyone to have her experience.
12. Kevin Durant
Basketball legend Kevin Durant was one of the many athletes to contract coronavirus. Durant and at least three of his Brooklyn Nets teammates tested positive in early March. The NBA postponed games during the pandemic to stop the spread of the virus.
As the NBA is trying to continue its season in Florida, the athletes have been restricted to bubbles, where only spouses are allowed to enter. Durant and his infected teammates went into isolation and have since recovered.
13. Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were the first celebrities to share their coronavirus diagnosis. They were in Australia when they tested positive and quarantined there until they recovered. They both had cols and body aches with slight fevers, so they got tested right away.
Hanks and his wife posted numerous updates from the hospital, and after four days, they went to their rented house to remain in isolation. The couple followed all the appropriate guidelines and urged fans to follow in their footsteps by being cautious and listen to the rules.
14. George Stephanopoulos
George Stephanopoulos is the host of Good Morning America, and in mid-April, he announced his diagnosis with coronavirus. This came just two weeks after his wife tested positive. In his video, Stephanopoulos said he felt lucky because he didn't have any of the symptoms people were talking about.
Stephanopoulos had already been working from home because of the epidemic, and he said that he only lost his sense of taste and had a backache for a few days. His wife had worse symptoms with a fever and aches, and he shared videos of her recovery with the Good Morning America family.
15. Kristofer Hivju
Game of Thrones star, Kristofer Hivju, tested positive for corona in early March. He played Tormund Giantsbane on the hit show, and once he started to have mild symptoms, he isolated and got tested to confirm the diagnosis. Hivju assured fans that he and his family were doing well.
With his massive following, he encouraged fans to do the right thing and stay home. Hivju added that this is a time when people need to not only think about their personal health but the safety of others as well.
16. Judi Evans
Soap opera star, Judi Evans, is not being dramatic this time. In June, Evans announced that she had contracted COVID-19 while she was recovering in the hospital after she fell off a horse. She said she was experiencing mild symptoms like fever, aches, and a cough, but nothing she couldn't handle.
Evans also shared that she did have blood clots because of the virus, but she is doing well. She thanked all of her fans for their overwhelming love and support through this trying time and said the prayers had lifted her spirit.
17. Sturgill Simpson
While on tour for his latest album, Sound & Fury, country singer Sturgill Simpson had to postpone all of his shows until next year because of the global pandemic. Not only did he stop his tour, but he also contracted the virus as well. Simpson started experiencing high blood pressure in early March but wasn't able to get tested till April.
Once Simpson was able to get tested a month after he started experiencing symptoms, he tested positive. The nurses told him that each case presents differently, and it just depends on the person. Simpson remained in self-quarantine before and after testing positive to help stop the spread.
18. Jennifer Aydin
At the beginning of April, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin shared that she contracted coronavirus. She and her daughter were sick with mild symptoms but recovered well. On Instagram, she said that she had been feeling sick, and ten days later, her test came back positive.
Aydin got a shoutout from the Governor of New Jersey, who thanked her for donating over 3,000 N95 masks, and for signing up to donate plasma. Her family has also been working to find other medical supplies to contribute to the hospital workers fighting the virus.
19. Daniel Dae Kim
Hawaii Five-O star, Daniel Dae Kim, contracted coronavirus and took to his Instagram to share his test results with fans. He decided to share his journey with fans as an informative and helpful way to make people more aware of the seriousness of the pandemic.
From the testing process, which he said was uncomfortable, to donating plasma for research purposes, Kim shared his entire COVID-19 journey online. He also noted that people were name-calling because he is Asian and contracted the virus, but he said that gets us nowhere and put an end to it.
20. Laura Bell Bundy
Hart of Dixie star, Laura Bell Bundy, did not want her fans to be concerned, but she shared that she tested positive for coronavirus in late-March. In a video she posted, Bundy said she had mild symptoms and was taking all the supplements she could as well as self-isolating.
Bundy had a fever and felt tightness in her chest, so she got a test. She was terrified at first, and Bundy thinks she contracted the virus at an event before she began her self-quarantine. She urged fans to stay home and take precautions so that they would be healthy.
21. Danny Burstein
Best known for his performance in Broadway's Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Danny Burstein wrote an article for the Hollywood Reporter about his COVID-19 experience. Berstein nearly collapsed in the shower and had been coughing up blood for a few days before deciding to go to the hospital.
Burstein spent days in the hospital, and he could barely breathe at some points. He thought it might be his time to go, but he kept fighting for his family. He heard the announcements as many other patients were dying, so his only option was to think positively so he could go home. In late March, Burstein was finally sent home. He praised all the doctors and nurses who helped him and many others throughout this time.
22. Sara Bareilles
"Bubbly" singer Sara Bareilles took to Instagram to let fans know that she tested positive and recovered from coronavirus. She posted to her story while she was taking a "socially distanced" walk that she only had mild symptoms, and felt lucky that it did not make her very sick.
Bareilles sent warm wishes to everyone around the world as we navigate through this tricky time. Her Waitress co-star, Gavin Creel, also contacted the virus, and they were around each other early on before lockdowns. She did not say if he gave her corona or not.
23. Babyface
The soulful singer, Babyface, celebrated his birthday in April, and while receiving well wishes from his fans, he revealed he and his family all tested positive for coronavirus. He said that it was a scary and trying time, but they have all since recovered.
In an effort to brighten the spirits of his fans, Babyface joined Teddy Riley for a live-streamed performance to celebrate Black Music Excellence. The show was uplifting and a glimmer of positivity in such a trying time.
24. Todd Chrisley
Reality star Todd Chrisley revealed on his podcast "Chrisley Confessions," that he was battling COVID-19. He was hospitalized for four days because of severe symptoms. Chrisley said he has never felt that sick in his entire life, and it was a life-altering experience for him and his family.
Chrisley's daughter Savannah wrote on Instagram that she was so afraid for her dad, and feared the worst outcome. His whole family prayed for a speedy recovery, and they were so grateful when he came home. The Chrisley's added that they hope everyone is staying safe by wearing masks and social distancing.
25. Aaron Tveit
On March 12, Broadway's Moulin Rouge! halted production as the industry shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. Aaron Tveit was exposed to his castmate who had the virus and contracted it from there. Tveit had a fever and other minor symptoms, but he recovered.
Tveit quarantined before he got his result, but knew he would probably test positive. The actor has been taking the situation very seriously as everyone should. In his Instagram post, he thanked fans for their concern but assured them he was doing well and feeling much better.
26. Lesley Stahl
In May, CBS News had an outbreak of coronavirus, and many of the staff contracted the virus, including Lesley Stahl. During an episode of 60 Minutes, the reporter shared a video discussing the pandemic, and how she had been recovering.
In Stahl's video, she paid tribute to the doctors and nurses working on the frontlines to fight this awful virus. She said, "Tonight, we all owe them our gratitude, our admirations — and in some cases, our lives.” It was a beautiful tribute that showed we need to come together and follow the rules to help ease the pressure of medical workers.
27. Chris Cuomo
Like his fellow CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin, Chris Cuomo also tested positive for COVID-19. He was exposed to other people at CNN who tested positive and contracted it from there. Although some people are asymptomatic, Cuomo had a fever, chills, aches, and shortness of breath.
Cuomo was worried he would pass it on to his wife and daughter, which he said would make him feel worse than the virus. He has since recovered, and he is continuing to host Cuomo Prime Time from home. As the brother of New York governor Andrew Cuomo, he sent out positive messages for everyone to stay safe and make smart decisions during these times.
28. John Taylor
John Taylor, bassist of the popular '80s band Duran Duran, took to Twitter to announce that he was battling coronavirus. He said that although he is 59-years-old, he feels lucky that he only had mild symptoms compared to many others.
Taylor described his case as a "turbo-charged flu." He used his platform to ease the fears of many fans. Although there have been many lives lost, he wanted to encourage fans that we can beat the epidemic.
29. Colton Underwood
"It's kicking my butt, just to put it bluntly," said Bachelor star Colton Underwood about battling coronavirus. The handsome hopeless romantic who appeared on the shows 23rd season told fans that he was exhausted and having trouble breathing.
Underwood was self-isolating with his girlfriend, Cassie Randolph, at her parent's house, and trying to get healthy again. He said his post wasn't to scare people but to help inform people that the virus takes a toll on you, and it can happen to anyone.
30. Brian Stokes Mitchell
After feeling sick for a few days, Broadway star, Brian Stokes Mitchell, tested positive for the virus. Along with his wife and son, the family self-isolated while they battled the virus. Although they were almost 100 percent asymptomatic, the family felt scared because there is so much unknown about COVID-19.
Mitchell shared with fans that he and his family have now fully recovered and felt much better. He said that each day he felt himself getting more healthy, and it was nice to have fans reach out and wish him well.
31. Scarface
After having pnemonia-like symptoms and being hospitalized for kidney failure, rapper Scarface is recovering from his battle with COVID-19. What started out as a scratchy throat turned into him lying in a hospital bed wondering if he was going to die.
Scarface went to the hospital twice, and told his bandmate, Willie D, that it was the scariest experience of his life. He wants his fans to know that this virus is real and not going anywhere until everyone starts adhering to the restrictions and guidance of medical professionals.
32. Slim Thug
After feeling feverish and having a cough, rapper Slim Thug tested positive for coronavirus. He was taking all the necessary precautions with face masks and gloves, however, he still contracted the virus.
In his Instagram video, Slim Thug said that he feels much better, but he wants his followers to know how severe this pandemic is. While many people think they are invincible, this is not the time to test your luck.
33. Jackson Browne
After attending the Love Rocks NYC benefit in March, rocker Jackson Browne contracted coronavirus. Browne said his symptoms were mild, and he didn't need medication or hospitalization. He was grateful that it was only a minor case.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Browne said he thinks that young people are not taking it seriously because they are less likely to have severe symptoms. He added that he hopes people start to make smarter choices and stay home to stop the spread.
34. Nyle DiMarco
After feeling feverish with a cough and losing his sense of taste, Dancing with the Stars champion Nyle DiMarco realized he had COVID-19. He didn't get tested so that he could save a test for someone with more severe symptoms, but he isolated himself anyway.
DiMarco made a statement regarding the importance of testing and how it has helped many countries to combat the virus. However, if said if you are young, healthy, and not experiencing respiratory issues, not to get tested because the kits are limited in the US. Although he did stress that people should stay home if they feel sick.
35. Harvey Weinstein
The disgraced Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein, tested positive for coronavirus in prison, and he was one of two inmates to catch it. He is currently serving a 23-year sentence at Wende Correctional Facility in New York.
Not many people were upset about his diagnosis, considering the heinous acts he committed. Weinstein's representatives did not make any comments about his diagnosis or the pandemic in general.
36. Marianne Faithful
Known for her 1964 hit, "As Tears Go By," Marianne Faithful spent 22 days in the hospital battling coronavirus. She previously battled breast cancer, hepatitis C, and a broken hip in 2014. Since Faithful was in a high-risk group, it was more crucial for her to remain stable throughout her hospital visit.
Faithful was released from the London hospital after making a full recovery, and she is thankful for all the people who reached out to wish her a speedy recovery. She is hoping that everyone will follow restrictions so life can go back to normal.
37. Placido Domingo
"I feel it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for COVID19, the Coronavirus," wrote Spanish opera singer Placido Domingo in a Facebook post. Domingo said he had a fever and a cough, so he got tested and he and his family quarantined.
Domingo and his family are all in good health now but continue to follow the social distancing and mask guidelines. Recently, Domingo resigned from the opera singer union after multiple accusations of sexual harassment.
38. Gavin Creel
Broadway star and Tony-winner, Gavin Creel, was never formally tested, but he believes he had coronavirus. During a live-stream show with Rosie O'Donnell, Creel said many of his Waitress castmates had tested positive, which is why he thinks he had it.
Creel began having flu-like symptoms right before the theatre shutdown and self-quarantined immediately. He has since recovered and feels much better these days. It is unclear why he didn't get tested, but it was good that he isolated himself anyway.
39. Charlotte Lawrence
Singer and model Charlotte Lawrence announced in an Instagram post that she tested positive for COVID-19. While she didn't have any severe symptoms, she told her followers that she was quarantining and following all the required rules.
In her Instagram post, Lawrence said that everyone should think about their parents, grandparents, and other loved ones instead of breaking lockdown rules. As someone with a large platform, she used it to promote the healthy and safety of others unlike some young influencers these days.
40. Andrew Watt
In early March, music producer Andrew Watt announced he contracted the virus. Initially, he was diagnosed with the flu until he pushed for testing. Watt said he felt like he was "hit by a bus," and could barely get out of bed. He added that the chills, aches, and sweats were unrelenting and he started to become delusional.
Watt was taken to the hospital for his severe symptoms, which is where he had to beg the doctors to test him for coronavirus. After some time, his fever started to subside, and he regained an appetite. Watt said that as a 29-year-old man, he is proof that it doesn't matter what age you are, anyone can be infected.
