When You Ask for Beats
Kids these days love their technology. They all want Santa to bring them the latest iPhone, the coolest video game, a smartwatch, and some fancy headphones to boot. But when this kid asked his parents for some Beats headphones, it seemed as though this got lost in translation with the older generation. Although we're not sure why they didn't question their son's sudden love of vegetables after solely eating chicken nuggets since he was a toddler.
Of course, we have a feeling that his parents actually knew exactly what they were doing when they gave him these beets. And let's just give a round of applause to them for their creativity.
The Coolest Poo-Zzle
Some people love receiving a puzzle as a Christmas gift or a birthday gift. Puzzles are fun for all of the family, and they're a great way to pass the time - especially if they're personalized with a picture that means something to the recipient. And it's safe to say that this personalized puzzle did mean something to the recipient, even if it wasn't quite as tender and PG as they may have expected.
But what's more real to life than a picture of your Labrador pooping in the garden? When this dad finished his puzzle, he even framed it and gave it back to his son as a gift the next year.
Keeping Things Personal
If you have a calendar, you'll know just how handy these things can be. Not only can you track your daily appointments and commitments, but you can also make a note of people's birthdays and anniversaries. Of course, it's incredibly easy to buy a calendar off the shelf and give it to someone as a gift - but why would you do that when you could make a personalized one, instead?
We can only assume that the guy in the pictures was the one behind this personalized calendar, and instead of choosing pictures of his family for them all to enjoy, he made it all about him. And it's pretty epic.
Pack Your Bags
Parents are either the worst or the best at choosing gifts for their children. No, there's no in-between! They either nail it with their choice of present, or they upset their kids in the process - and we have a feeling that this luggage did the latter. After all, these weren't just any pieces of luggage. They were pieces with a hidden message that essentially told their 24-year-old son that he really needed to move out of their house.
This not-so-subtle hint probably hit their son hard, but let's just hope that he didn't get confused and think that they were paying for him to go on an all-inclusive vacation.
That's Nuts
In a world of 'things' and 'stuff,' it can be easy to get carried away with gift giving. People spend too much money on things that people don't really need and stuff that just sits on the cabinet for months before it's eventually re-gifted to someone else. So, we should take more of a leaf out of this person's book! When they heard that their friend loved pistachios, they knew what they had to do.
To some, this 5-pound bag of unshelled pistachios may be an awful gift. But to this nut-loving guy, we bet it was something that he used every single day!
A $100 Limit
Some people just don't know when it stops when it comes to buying gifts. They love it so much that they end up spending hundreds of dollars on things that people don't really need. That's why many families come up with a limit on how much they should spend each year - and that's exactly what this guy did. He set his limit at $100 and jokingly told his grandma that he wanted 100 things from the dollar store.
In true grandma form, she did exactly what she was told! We bet this guy had a blast opening all of these presents, but we imagine his grandma's hands hurt from all of that gift wrapping.
Present-Ception
Unwrapping the gift wrap on presents is one of the best parts of gift giving. After all, people fall into two categories when it comes to this process. There are those who delicately slide their fingers underneath the paper in an effort to avoid ripping it, and then there are those who will simply grab the paper and pull it off in one fell swoop. But what would you do if you came across this present-ception?
The more this person wrapped their Christmas present, the more they were mocked by another layer of paper and a meme to go with it. Legend has it they're still unwrapping this gift today.
The Real Heroes
You never go wrong with gifting someone a T-shirt, right? Well, that's what we thought. Whether it's for a Christmas present or a birthday present, a T-shirt will almost always come in handy. But it seems as though this T-shirt probably caused a lot of family drama when this guy opened it during the holidays. After all, this back-handed compliment basically told him that he was impossible to be around!
That may be true, but nobody wants to wear the fact that they're annoying on their chest, do they? Luckily, it seems as though this guy understood that there was a lot of humor - and a little bit of love - behind this gift.
Remember Him?
Some people are extremely easy to buy for. You know that they love candles, so you buy them a candle. Or you know that they're a chocolate fiend, so you buy them a few boxes of chocolates. But what do you get the person in your life who seems to have everything but also doesn't want anything at the same time? Well, this guy eventually came up with an idea for the impossible man in his life.
Yes, he blew a picture of his face up onto a blanket and wrapped it in gift wrap for the holidays! We don't know if this is awful or genius, but we're leaning more towards genius.
A New Apple Watch
Apple knows exactly what it's doing. This company brings out new products every single year, and many releases are conveniently revealed to the public in the run-up to Christmas. This means that more and more people add these products to their Christmas lists every year - and that was no different for this person. They had their sights set on a brand new Apple watch, and that's exactly what they got!
Okay, it's actually just an Apple and a watch, but at least the apple looks fresh! The brand new watch also looks pretty fancy as well, despite not having any smart features.
A Survival Box
No matter how old you get, your parents are always going to love and protect you. This is also the case during their gift-giving shenanigans, too. That's because parents will always give practical gifts, and these parents definitely got that memo. Despite the fact that their child was 24 years old and no longer lived at home, they still got them a survival box that would certainly keep them going for a few weeks.
From the cans of soup to the pair of socks, this survival box is one of the best gifts we've seen. It was obviously well needed, too, as the kid had already opened up the packet of toilet paper!
Revenge Is Sweet
Although kids forget about cleaning their teeth or having manners on a regular basis, there's no doubt about the fact that kids have a very impressive Christmas memory. They remember every toy they've ever gotten, and they remember everything that wasn't under the tree, too. Unluckily for this uncle, he felt the full wrath of his niece's wrath when he was gifted some batteries as part of his Christmas gift.
We know what you're thinking, though. Batteries are handy, aren't they? Well, they're not so handy when you realize that the uncle forgot batteries for his niece's toy the previous year.
Granny Socks
Aren't grandmas just the best? They always give you "pocket money" no matter how old you get, they always have cookies in the cookie jar, and they'll never let you leave their house hungry. But one thing grandmas aren't so great at is giving gifts. A lot of the time they make gifts for their family members, and while there's no doubt that we appreciate the time and effort she puts into these gifts, they're sometimes a little rough around the edges.
Take these socks that this guy's grandma made, for example. Sure, they'll keep his feet warm and dry during the winter months, but he definitely couldn't wear these socks with shorts!
Good Old Steve
You can't go wrong with having a pair of leggings in your closet. They're great for dog walks, lounging around the house, or just ticking some chores off your to-do list. But when this guy's sister-in-law asked him for some leggings for Christmas, we have a feeling that she wasn't expecting to peel back the gift wrap and see these Steve Buscemi leggings. Who knows, though, maybe she's a Steve super fan?
Whatever the case, you can't deny that these leggings are pretty cool. We particularly love seeing the legendary actor wearing so many flower crowns - and we bet they look even better when they're on!
Sibling Rivalry
Only children won't understand the rivalry that exists between siblings. It's almost as though siblings were born with the sole purpose of annoying their brother or sister for the entirety of their lives, and some people take this extremely seriously. It seems like this man's sibling does, too. When they knew they had to buy their brother a gift, they decided that giving him absolutely nothing to open was the right course of action.
The expression on this guy's face says it all, really. But we also have a feeling that behind that expression is a man plotting his revenge for his sibling's upcoming birthday.
Presence Is a Present
When you're trying to save money, you probably come up with so many ways to cut corners. You might opt for the off-brand food in the grocery store, you might start walking more than using the car, and you might even cut down on the kind of Christmas presents you buy your friends and family. But that also means that you have to get creative, so you can still prove to them that you love them - despite your smaller budget!
Well, this guy nailed it. He made sure that his girlfriend knew that his presence was the ultimate present - and he even gift-wrapped himself for the occasion and put himself under the tree.
Happy Holidays
In today's day and age, it's common for parents to buy Christmas presents for their children's teachers. Normally, this is something small like a box of chocolates or even a bunch of flowers - but how are you supposed to stand out from the crowd when every parent buys the same thing? That's why we have to commend these parents for going the extra mile and understanding the true sacrifice of their son's teacher.
After all, a bottle of wine is probably very much needed after teaching their child, and at least they can appreciate the person who drove them to drink while they're getting drunk.
Cat's Got the Cream
If you have a pet, you'll know that they're not just animals. They become part of the family, and some owners even liken them to their children. But while most mother-in-laws don't respect that and ask their children when they'll be giving them grandchildren instead, it seems as though this mother-in-law has broken the mold and restored our faith in the world. Not only did she get her grand-cat a card, but she also gave it some money!
We have a feeling that this cat will spend its money on some premium catnip, but lets hope that it gives its grandmother some love and attention next time it sees her, too.
The Latest in Hair Tech
We live in a world that's full of technology, and kids are way more in tune with this new tech than adults. That's obviously why this young girl decided to ask for a drone for Christmas! But it seems as though drones and long hair don't really mix, which is why this girl managed to turn her drone into an impressive piece of hair-styling technology instead. However, we don't think it's going to take over the world.
From the pained look on her face, it seems as though she didn't intend for such a thing to happen. And she probably didn't intend for her cousin to snap a picture of her during this time, either.
Time to Move Out
There comes a time in every child's life when they have to fly the nest and live on their own. Some birds just don't want to fly, though, despite their parents desperately wanting to have an empty nest. This was the case for these parents, who decided to give their son a little push during their gift-giving endeavors. In fact, they decided to call him out as being the ultimate man-child.
We can't help but wonder if the 28-year-old took the hint, though, or whether he gladly took the one-piece pajama set, went back to his room, and played video games for the next year.
Same Difference, Right?
Let's be honest; most people would love to wake up on Christmas morning to a brand-new car on the driveway. But most people, including Jeremy, can't afford to give extravagant gifts like that. So, you have to make do with what you have, which is why he decided to go the extra mile for his wife and give her something equally as special. Yes, a giant red bow on the car she already owns.
Sure, it's not a new car. But for a moment she probably thought that her husband was taking her out to see her new car, so she probably still got a rush of excitement! Even though it was later taken over by anger.
Year After Year
Sometimes the best gifts are the simplest gifts. And if you don't believe us, just look at this! Although this guy's friend could have bought him a bar of chocolate or some socks, he decided to get personal with his gift instead. He opted to buy his friend a T-shirt of himself photographed in a certain location - and then buy him the same gift year after year. Yes, the gift just gets better and better.
Considering this has been going on for so many years already, we can only assume that this shirt will continue into the future. Although we're not sure how many other pictures will be able to fit on there!
Great Minds
There's nothing more annoying than being excited to open up a present, only to realize that you already have it! In a way, it makes the present obsolete. But it's also a good idea to take a moment to appreciate the fact that the person who bought the present for you is in-tune with what you like, and knows you in a way that only you know yourself. In fact, that's pretty beautiful.
The smile on this woman's face seems to suggest that she doesn't mind that she's been given the exact same sweater that she's wearing. At least she now has a spare when the other is in the wash.
An EggsBox
Christmas is a time for giving and being generous with the ones that you love. But sometimes generosity doesn't involve money. Sometimes generosity can be in the form of a valuable life lesson - like the fact that you can't always get what you want! We can only assume that's what these parents wanted to teach their son when he asked for an Xbox 360 for Christmas on that particular year.
While they could have given in and spoiled their kid, they decided to teach him that life isn't easy instead. And his face says it all, really. He's definitely not impressed with that life lesson.
Time to Get Crafty
If you're wondering what to buy a special someone in your life, we'd like to draw your attention to this 'Crafting with Cat Hair' set. But that's not because we think you should buy your significant other this set. That's actually because we think you should avoid buying anyone anything that involves using cat hair for a supposedly practical purpose. In fact, that's why we're a little concerned as to why this woman is smiling.
This is undoubtedly one of the worst gifts anyone has ever received, but we're happy that this woman is happy. Let's hope her cat naturally sheds that hair, at least.
Read the Instructions
There's nothing more beautiful than receiving a personalised gift. It shows that the person buying it for you has really put thought into their present and really thought about you in the process. And while Rick had a lovely idea, unfortunately, he didn't quite read the instructions carefully. Although he wanted to write 'Love Rick' on the note that came with the personalized necklace for his wife, he wrote it in the wrong box.
You've got to admit that this necklace still works, though. After all, his wife knows her own name - but it's probably nice to have a reminder that her husband loves her when she looks down.
What a Thoughtful Gift
Sometimes, Christmas and birthdays come at the worst time. And while we all know that they're at the same time every year, that doesn't mean that our circumstances revolve around these holidays. This guy was obviously in a sticky situation when Christmas came around, as he wasn't in a place financially where he was able to spoil those around him. So, he decided to give them all an 'I owe you' in their cards instead.
Let's just hope that he manages to fulfill this promise before the year is up, otherwise he'll be adding an even bigger 'I owe you' into the card for next year.
Powering up
Have you ever asked someone what they want for Christmas, only to be met with the 'I don't know' response? Well, you're not alone. This is perhaps the most annoying thing anyone could ever say to you, as it leaves you in the lurch as to what to get them. Most of the time, you have to go with something that catches your eye in the store - and it seems as though this Power Rangers mask did just that.
Considering this mask is covering his face, we don't know if he's pleased with this mask or not. Maybe he just needs to be powered up to truly appreciate this gift.
Man's Best Friend
Anyone who has a dog will know that it's hard to leave your dog out of fun situations. So, why not include your dog in the gift-giving process? That's exactly what this guy did, and he decided to go all out on a couple of presents that would solidify his dog's status as man's best friend. And if you don't already have matching T-shirts with your dog, then you're probably going to want some now...
We just love the fact that the dog looks so proud as he's looking up at his owner with his face on his back. And if this is what love is, then we want it immediately.
Always Check the Sizes
This is a PSA to everyone out there who is buying clothes or wearable items for someone this year: Remember to check the sizes! No matter whether it's a birthday present or a Christmas present, you must always check to see whether the items you're buying will fit the people you're buying them for. This mom didn't do that, though, and it was her husband who realized just how much of a problem that was.
Yes, if pajamas can very easily fit a fully-grown male, we have a feeling that they're probably way too big for a child. But at least they got a funny story (and picture) out of it.
Rapping Paper
You've heard of wrapping paper, but have you ever heard of rapping paper? Yes, let's all give a round of applause to the creative mind behind this impressive gift-wrapping, because this is one of the coolest things we've ever seen. We have a feeling that Tupac and Snoop Dogg would have approved of such creativity as well, as they are and were two people who appreciated new and innovative ideas.
If we received these gifts, we probably wouldn't want to open them. But we're sure the urge to see what's inside would take over us as the hours go by.
Can You Believe?
There are two types of men in this world, there are those who love Christmas and then there are those who become the Grinch as soon as December 1st hits. And while you'd be forgiven for thinking that the guy who wrote this card loves Christmas, we actually have a feeling that it was the complete opposite. It seems as though he resented the fact that his wife made him write the Christmas cards, so he went a little OTT!
Despite the very obvious hints of sarcasm in this Christmas card, we still love it. And we bet it put a smile on the recipients face - which is all that matters, right?
Not-So-Gentle Anymore
Although some people get offended when they're given soaps and lotions for a Christmas present or birthday present, there's no doubt that these products are practical. Most of the time, anyway. Sometimes, you receive a product that just doesn't quite float your boat, so you leave it in your bathroom vanity unit for years until you eventually throw it away. This great aunt obviously didn't want to waste a good product, though.
When she realized she had this gentle moisturizing lotion in her bathroom, she decided to re-gift it to her great-nephew. The only problem? It was 12 years out of date! So we have a feeling it wasn't so gentle after all.
Oops, Wrong Family
Personalized gifts are some of the best gifts you can receive. They have meaning, they hold a real place in your heart, and they're so lovely to look at. Of course, most people have to rely on external companies to bring these personalized visions to life - which means that you also have to rely on them to get everything correct. Unfortunately, that didn't happen on this occasion, as this person received a family blanket of the wrong family!
Although the person who ordered this blanket for his girlfriend knew the mistake had been made, he decided to give it to her anyway. We wonder if she liked it?
Merry Christmas, Morgan!
If you walked out of your house and saw a car with a bow on the top, you'd be over the moon. Normally, this is the kind of thing that only happens in movies when husbands give their wives extravagant Christmas gifts or parents give their kids a birthday present. But it seems as though Morgan's brother wanted to give Morgan that same feeling of excitement when she saw this Chevvy on her driveway.
The catch? It wasn't her car at all! All she got out of this Christmas present was a hefty rental bill, some gift cards, and a deep hatred in her heart for her brother.
The Problem With Semantics
We live in a world full of words, and many of these words all sound the same. This guy's friend decided to play on this problem this Christmas - especially as the opportunity was too good to pass up. After all, his friend asked them for a Kindle, which sounds suspiciously like a Ken Doll! So, they bought this grown man a doll and wrapped it with gift wrap for him to enjoy on the big day.
The look on this guy's face when he saw the doll was priceless. But it was even better when he opened up the second present and found the actual Kindle.
The Bigger the Better?
When you were younger, you probably snooped around the Christmas tree, searching for the biggest present that you hoped was yours. After all, bigger is always better, right? Well, not quite. When this guy was given a gift-wrapped present so big he could barely hold it, he could barely hold his excitement either. He thought he was going to open up the best gift in the world, but he was sorely mistaken.
Inside that giant box was just a tiny gift card! And after all of that, he was left with a small present that could have been put in an envelope instead.
The Coolest Uncle
In most families, you have two different types of siblings. There's the one who seems older than they are and has their life together with a partner and a child. Then there's the one who is just vibing. And while we hate to make assumptions, we're going to assume that Garrett is the latter! So much so that he made his niece a personalized book for Christmas all about his wild life.
From his favorite liquor to his thought about his appearance, this has to be one of the coolest Christmas gifts we've ever seen. And we'd actually quite like a copy ourselves.
Christmas Is a Battlefield
No Christmas would be complete without some family drama, right? And while some families hash out their problems over a tense game of Monopoly, there are others who prefer to be a bit more active. That's why this mom decided to even up the score when buying presents for her and her husband. After all, her son already had a Nerf gun - so it was only fair they had some too!
We can't even imagine the carnage that ensued when these presents were revealed. But we really hope that all breakables were put in a cupboard before the first trigger was pulled.
Preparing for the Future
What do you get the person who has annoyed you since they were born? Yes, it's really hard to buy presents for your siblings, so sometimes you have to go rogue and think about what they'd like in the future rather than what they want at this present moment. This sister decided to do just that, and she gift wrapped a signed photo of herself to give her brother for Christmas.
Of course, that photo doesn't mean anything right now. But when she's super famous and cut off her family, he'll treasure that photo as his most prized possession. Or he'll sell it for cash.
